Sex is beautiful...that's our starting point....But sometimes it can turn on us....

This site is about sexual compulsion/addiction in the modern digital world.

Pornography invites reckless behaviour and when this is combined with modern technology and communications, it is so much easier to lose our natural stability and open up a Pandora's box of psychological suffering and illness.....On these pages we hope to show how modern digital technology in the form of computers, DVDs, laptops, phones, webcams etc can lay us open to very destructive behaviours that can completely overwhelm our lives. Likewise those other 'process' addictions (like gambling) which can be accessed via electronic screens. So this is expressly for all those screens....wherever they may be:

Like entering a cold and misty wood, alone and numb we stumble aimlessly, across roots and slippery rocks, unable to find a way out. None of the tracks seem to lead to safety, clarity or home. The house is burning; the ship is drifting; there's no direction home: whatever metaphor we choose, a crisis is stealing up on us - for us as individuals and for society generally.

On-line porn, internet sex chatrooms, phone sex, sex chatlines and texting, can all lead us into risky, depraved or downright mad encounters, which we repeat to the point at which we cannot stop. Then we find that.... we cannot stop! It is the intention of this site to highlight the problems and offer strategies, means and understanding to help resolve them. Because of the similarity of many of the issues, this site also provides some helpful links to online gambling addiction and gaming addiction resources (see the Getting Free page).

Collected here are articles and research (see Articles on Sex Addiction in the menu on the left) that point out the very real psychological dangers to which we are all now exposed. The world of sexual addiction leads into chaotic lifestyles, increasingly devoid of love, meaning or intimacy, but increasingly filled with anguish, panic, recklessness, guilt, obsessionality and compulsion. Do you want to become a victim of these conditions? Are you fuelling a vicious spiral of sudden craving, preoccupation, and acting out.....followed by disappointment, frustration and remorse?

On top of that, consider the harm and damage that you might be causing others by such behaviour?

One possible way out of the pornographic nightmare that afflicts the web is offered by the CP80 Foundation, which is supporting the development of separate and distinct zones of internet access.
